Destinations/ Greece leaves Turkey behind, Albanians become more explorers from

The majority of locals have chosen to stay in Albania for their summer vacations, and the second most preferred destination is Greece, according to the survey that "Monitor" conducted during the end of June and July through the ECR (Engaged Citizens Reporting) application for vacation destinations. .

The survey was completed by 659 individuals from across the country.

At least 336 respondents, which is 62% of the total number of those who said they will take a vacation, said they will spend their vacation in Albania.

Some individuals have expressed reservations about the prices, which this year are considered to have increased in an abusive manner.

Bledi states in the comments of the survey that from internet searches for the beginning of August, he had not found a price cheaper than 600 euros in Ksamil, while the possibilities with higher prices were numerous and had free rooms.

"A year ago, at this time, it was impossible to find so many free rooms in this area," he says.

We remind you that this year, Ksamil and Saranda were the first two destinations where the signal was given that there was a departure of locals and Kosovo, due to the extreme increase in prices with two stages, but also for a change in the typology of the tourist who is young and prefers not to spend too much.

"I am currently staying in Ksamil, but one thing has impressed me, why in some places, the price of a chaise longue surpasses the price of a hotel.

I did not understand this, what was included in that price that varied from 20 euros to 100 euros", - says Petros in one of the posts of the survey.

Regarding the preferred destinations outside Albania, Greece dominates with 23% of the respondents, followed by Turkey and Italy with 5% each.

Turkey remains one of the main destinations where Albanians who prefer the "all inclusive" concept go every year.

Greece has also brought this concept to some of its regions, such as Corfu or Haklidili, but the preference remains high also due to the proximity to be visited on individually organized trips.

Earlier, tourist agencies claimed for "Monitor" that bookings for Turkey and Greece were at the highest historical levels this year.

With a cheap euro and much higher prices in the south of Albania, many tourists have chosen to spend their holidays in these popular destinations, taking advantage of the economic offers and comprehensive services.

The tightening of accommodation in the country has encouraged many Albanians, who used to spend their vacations in the South, to look for other alternatives abroad in destinations such as Greece, Turkey, or Montenegro, taking advantage of economic offers and comprehensive services.

Previously, the cheaper prices were a reason to rest within the country, but with the increase in recent years, especially in the south, for both accommodation and food, there is no longer any difference in cost.

Contacted by "Monitor", tourist agencies claim that bookings for Turkey and Greece have been at the highest historical levels this year, despite the fact that they have also seen package prices increase by 10-15% per year.

The entry into the Albanian market of a number of low cost companies that offer flights to multiple destinations has increased the access of Albanians and expanded the possibility of planning vacations in a more economic form.

"I will go with my tent, bread and water with me.

I don't want to spend a penny on abusive people.

I will do 4 days in September cultural tourism in Europe, bread with me, water from the tap at home with AIRBNB and the plane ticket 20 euros if possible, and the expenses will be 200 euros", - says Dita, one of the respondents.

Although with a still modest level in the survey responses, a trend of increasing exploration in destinations that are not very typical for Albanians is observed.

Some of the respondents answered that they will rest in Vietnam, China, Portugal or the United States of America.

Men go on vacations more, but women more indulgent in spending

The processed survey data showed that there were a total of 207 female respondents and 476 male respondents. Asked if they had planned a summer vacation, only 80% of women answered the question with "yes", while in the group of men, 83% of them answered the question with "yes".

While men seem to be more involved in vacation planning, the trend seems to reverse when it comes to spending.

From the respondents' answers, it appears that 55% of women spend between 50-100 euros a day, while 43% of the men who answered the survey spend at this level. This category of spending between 50 and 100 euros constitutes the majority, where 47% of the total men and women are within this daily budget.

In the group that answered that they spend less than 50 euros per day, there are 22% of women surveyed and 27% of men.

19% of male respondents and 13% of female respondents fall in the budget between 100-200 euros. Between 200-300 euros are 7% of women and 5% of men, while over 300 euros per day are 6% of men and 3% of women./Monitor
