Scandals of the Resigned Head of the Guard/Illegal Appointments

The resigned head of the Republican Guard, Ermal Onuzi, has been embroiled in scandal.

CNA has uncovered a letter from Guard officers addressed to Prime Minister Edi Rama and Interior Minister Ervin Hoxha, listing several violations and scandals involving the heads of important directorates of the Republic Guard institution, as well as the head of the Guard himself.

Through this letter from the Guard officers, obtained by CNA, Onuzi is accused of scandalous behavior, as well as appointments without competition, openly and brutally violating the law and regulations of the Guard.

Employees emphasize that Ermal Onuz's intellectual level is regrettable.

The letter addressed to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior states that employees are hired without any training and appointed to very important positions with an impact on the security of personalities and facilities.

According to them, for Ermal Onuzi, only two criteria are required for those competing in the Guard: to be either from Kukës or from Dibra.

The scandal continues, and the letter obtained by CNA highlights that those appointed without merit openly display arrogance by trampling on hundreds of honest guardsmen who have sacrificed for the Guard.

The officers, in their complaint to the prime minister and the minister, emphasize that their only concern is to receive allowances and to be pampered in cars because "their day has come."

The complaint also states that "Some employees have been removed from their positions without any reason and the position is kept vacant until they go to meet the General Director and return to their position if they 'have good behavior' (the position is kept vacant for several days)."

These are just some of the reasons, which show how Ermal Onuzi has abused his position by violating the Guard's regulations and making appointments without criteria.
