A phenomenon, which is actually an alarm bell for people's health, are the various supplements that are advertised every day on Albanian screens and beyond.

Every day, at different hours of the day, there are advertisements that talk to people about different supplements that, according to them, help in the treatment of various health problems.

To advertise these products, the companies get well-known public figures, even ordinary people, who they say have used the supplements or medicines and were satisfied with the effect of the supplements.

But, it is not known if in their health card, they are diagnosed with the problems for which they advertise the medicines and the form of their use is another scandal.

Users of supplements and medications that are out of control or even counterfeit. Many supplement and medicinal products are also smuggled under the pretext that they are of better quality since they come from EU countries, but in fact no one gives a guarantee that they can be fake, with changed expiration dates, etc.

An even more disturbing fact is especially the use of supplements of different types. Medical supplements are advertised in pharmacies and sourced from various companies.

Many of these supplements are different from what is on the label and what they are advertised for. This is related to the facts that we mentioned above from the lack of control, contraband analyses, the source of production being totally fake or to the inconsistency of their codes with the original ones of the real manufacturer.

What happens?

It is not important that public figures appear in the ad and advertise a product that, according to them, helps people deal with their problems, but it is always necessary to have a doctor's advice or certificates for these products that have essential problems.

Advertisements of supplements that can take lives of people knowingly or unknowingly. This is due to the fact that instead of being treated by specialists, they waste time and risk their health by using supplemental products with the belief that they help and improve your health.

Sources told CNA that there are pharmaceutical companies that market counterfeit supplements of scandalous quality that adversely affect the health of women, the elderly and children.

Vitamins or other supplements that are counterfeit from the beginning, are claimed to be from a large company from abroad, but in fact they are simply counterfeit products until production in the pantry.

The responsible state institutions seem themselves involved in this megascandal, due to the lack of control and evaluation of these types of products.

The prosecution often closes investigations into these cases due to the great influence of the distribution companies. Citizens, who are the taxpayers of the institutions they have to monitor, are endangering their health with uncontrolled supplements, while officials warm their chairs and pockets, perhaps by drinking these very supplements that instead of stimulating or helping health can bring very serious consequences up to life-threatening./ CNA
