The source of the fire that broke out yesterday afternoon near border pyramid no. 12, on the border with Greece, in the territory of the Municipality of Kolonjë, remains active.

There are 40 forces mobilized on the ground from the Ministry of Environment, Kolonjë municipality services, police and employees of the Protected Areas Agency, who are on standby to isolate the spread of the fire.

It is learned that the intervention is difficult due to the rugged terrain and, since the territory lies in a border area with the presence of mines, it also poses a risk to the forces.

So far, the fire has not entered the Germenj Natural Park.

According to the authorities, all necessary communication has been carried out with the AKMC and the Greek side, to mobilize the responsible structures on both sides, which remain in full readiness and in constant contact to coordinate actions on the ground. /CNA
