Fires in Dropull and Finiq/ Greece responds to Albania again with two planes

After extinguishing the fires on the island of Sazan and Mount Chika, Greece has responded immediately to the request made by Albania in the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union.

The Albanian Civil Defense Agency announces that thanks to the hard work of the civil defense structures and the quick response of our Greek neighbors with two PZL M18 aircraft, it became possible to extinguish the fire in the Dropulli area and avoid the danger to the homes.

According to the Ministry of Defense, two Greek planes are currently helping the firefighting forces and Civil Defense structures to extinguish the fire in the municipality of Finiq.

The European Civil Protection Mechanism has concentrated a part of its resources in Greece, to help European countries in the summer period, when the risk of fires is high. /CNA.al
