Tirana Municipal Elections/ Constitutional Court: We have registered Veliaj's request

Prime Minister Edi Rama has sent the vacancies for the country's 6 municipalities to the Presidency. While the announcement of the election date was awaited, a reaction comes from the Constitutional Court, which emphasizes that it has registered Veliaj's request.

For transparency, I am reiterating to everyone the only response that the Constitutional Court has given regarding the case with no. 28(E) Basic Register, dated 29.09.2024 as follows:

"The court has published the registration of the request. The announcement is equivalent to public notice," the Constitutional Court explains.

Referring to this, according to the Constitutional Court, the elections should be suspended until a decision is made. / CNA
