On Friday, an event took place in Tirana that I can't exaggerate to say has the power of an epochal division in Albania.

In a country where the animal is regularly abused and killed just as regularly, the reversal occurred.

I happened to witness an action that, if I didn't film it, would be believable.

A squadron of firefighters rescued a cat stuck in a tree.

Yes, yes, you read that right. The fire truck with the 20-meter-long ladder, three firemen who dealt with it for 10 minutes, managed to catch the cat and put it on the ground.

Në një rrugicë përballë ish-hotel “Diplomat 1”, një zonjë kishte marrë në telefon e alarmuar numrin 193. “Alo, zjarrfikësja? Më ka ngecur macja në pemë. Kërkoj ndihmën tuaj!”.

Sigurisht që kjo kërkesë, në traditën e shoqërisë sonë futet në telefonatat e çmendura dhe të bezdisshme.

Ankesa më e zakonshme në këtë vendin tonë është: Zjarrfiksja erdhi me vonesa, prandaj ndodhi fatkeqësia. Por, jo. E morën me shumë seriozitet zjarrfikësit.

Ndezën makinën dhe sirenën dhe për pak minuta mbërritën në vendngjarje. Një vendngjarje vërtetë të rrallë për tu shkruar në librat e shërbimit dhe komunikatet e ditës.

Skena ishte pothuajse surreale. Një shkallare që ngjitej e ngjitej si ashensor dhe bashkë me të edhe një nga punonjësit me uniformë.

The meowing cat seemed to be asking for help with its tongue. In just a few minutes, the cat broke away from the first firefighter, but not from the second.

It fell into his hands and was miraculously saved. "Hero" received the thumbs up of the curious and mine as well with an unprepared footage.

They reminded me of many events that I have covered as a journalist. How many live police operations with arrests and gunfights. But, like this had never happened to me.

It's really a small event, but it shows so much. A cat was indeed saved, but this is exactly an epochal division for us Albanians.

Our society has started to change. Not only does it no longer kill animals like it used to, it saves them, even with the fireman's ladder.

Well done to the firefighters of Tirana! An era has ended and another has begun.
