Constitutional Court's decision on Veliaj/Journalism: Legal acrobatics,

Journalist and activist Aulon Kalaja spoke today regarding the Constitutional Court's decision that referred the case of the arrested mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, to the High Court.

Invited to "A2 CNN", Kalaja described it as a legal stunt and a scheme of a level never heard of before.

According to the journalist, the case produced by Veliaj should serve as a precedent to dismantle all corruption or organized economic crime that is occurring in Albania.

"This is legal acrobatics because there is no other way. The scheme of these is of an unheard of level before. We had never heard that a group of the municipality produces the tenders itself, takes them for itself. So this was an unheard of scheme. Rama had not done this either. What the Municipality of Tirana produced will serve as a precedent to dismantle all the corruption or organized economic crime that is happening in Albania. It is a very bad message even for citizens who think on the left, because the fight against the corrupt in this case will receive a very strong slap in the face if this decision, namely the one that the Constitutional Court has taken today, is followed to the end", - said Kalaja. /CNA
