Arrested for illegal construction/Security measures set for leaders of Saranda

The Saranda Court has set security measures for the officers of the Saranda Police Station who were arrested after the operation for illegal construction on the coast.

The former head of the Saranda Police Station, Gëzim Bashllari, and the area specialist, Robert Çulli, have been given the security measure of "prison arrest" for a period of 30 days.

Meanwhile, for crime investigation specialist Andi Duro and law enforcement specialist Ajdin Ismailaj, Judge Shkëlzen Liçaj has left the security measure "house arrest" in effect.

They are suspected of committing the criminal offenses of "Abuse of office", "Committing arbitrary acts" and "Failing to take measures to end the illegal situation", committed in collaboration.

During the hearing, the defense lawyers stated that their arrests are illegal and not based on sufficient evidence. They demanded the immediate release of the four police officers, claiming that the legal conditions for imposing restrictive security measures do not exist. /CNA
