The former Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Damian Gjiknuri, has been in the Special Prosecutor's Office for over 2 hours. 

Sources for CNA indicate that the former minister is being questioned in SPAK about three important issues, that of McGonigal, the incinerators file and the property investigation against him. 

We emphasize that for the "McGonigal" file, Gjiknuri is the only witness, since in the capacity of the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, he admitted that he met the former FBI agent, Charles Macgonigal, where he was accused of secret agreements for the oil fields in place. 

CNA has previously denounced this file, that there are communications between Dorian Duçka, Damian Gjiknuri, Agron Neza and McGonigal, as well as meetings with businessmen or mayors.

Regarding the "McGonigal" case, an investigation and decision by SPAK is expected. According to the request of the American prosecutors and the decision of the court in the USA, Charles McGonigal was convicted after the accusations of interests of the Albanian government against the opposition.

Politicians or persons involved in this affair in Albania are not investigated in the USA, because it is not corruption that was committed in the American state. 

The second issue that is being questioned by Gjiknuri is the million-euro incinerator affair. Specifically, it is about a fraction of the file for the investigations for the Elbasan incinerator. 

Meanwhile, the former minister is also being questioned thanks to a property investigation against him by the Special Prosecutor's Office. 

It is not the first time that he has been summoned to the Special Prosecutor's Office. In February last year, Gjiknuri was questioned by SPAK regarding a report made by him in 2017, when he held the position of Minister of Infrastructure and Energy.
