In the meeting of the Assembly with closed doors the day before, which lasted more than 5 hours, there was criticism of the mayor Erion Veliaj, the former minister Olta Xhaçka, the deputy Etjen Xhafaj and the leaders of some of the districts, where the socialists expressed their grievances saying that Veliaj and others organize meetings as NGOs. According to them, Veliaj avoids structures and acts as an independent party.

The mayor himself commented on these details from the Assembly meeting. During an interview, Veliaj stated that there is no conflict between him and Prime Minister Edi Rama.

He added that some are praying that there will be conflicts in the SP, but according to him this is not going to happen.

Among other things, he said that they are preparing for the next battle in the 2025 elections.

"There is no conflict between me and the prime minister. There is no lack of agreement between us. Some are praying that there will be a conflict in the SP, but it is not going to happen. We are preparing for the next battle in 2025", Veliaj said, among other things. / CNA
