Heavy rains/Droja River floods block 80 families in Kurbin

Around 80 families in the village of Shpërdhet in Kurbin have been left isolated due to the collapse of the road caused by the numerous flows of the Droja River. The road segment has collapsed over a length of around 100 meters, blocking the movement of residents.

In their statements to the media, residents say that this is a recurring situation. They say that no one has touched this road and there is no solution for emergencies.

 

" Here 2 years ago the same situation. In democracy no one has touched this road. The whole neighborhood is blocked. We are 80 families with about 350 people. If only someone would come and touch it ," said a resident.

 

Residents of Shperdheti say that the entire village has been blocked by this situation.

 

" Every time it rains here we have floods. This is torrential water and we couldn't wait for it with any ambush. 2 years ago they brought an excavator but nothing. Today the entire village is suspended. We can't move. If we have an emergency, we have to support it with our arms ," ??said another resident.

 

There were also problems in Rubik, as well as on Kombit Road. A rock mass collapsed in Rubik, blocking one direction of traffic.
