Long queues at Kapshtica Customs/ Immigrants waiting for about three hours

For more than three hours, hundreds of Albanian migrants have been waiting in line at the Kapshtica Border Crossing. Although there is no official holiday, a line of vehicles of more than 2 kilometers has formed at this customs because the Greek side is working with three counters and in a slow manner.

Most Albanians have spent a few days of vacation in their homeland and today have decided to return to Greece, where they have lived and worked for years.

In interviews obtained by CNA, the immigrants themselves have expressed outrage at this situation, indicating that they also have sick family members and urgent commitments, but have encountered the same problem that occurs during the holidays.

" My father is sick and now I'm leaving. I don't know whose fault it is. I've been waiting here for more than 40 minutes ," said an immigrant.

One of the immigrants said that the queue started at 4 pm today.

" We've been here since 4 o'clock. You know, the Greeks aren't working. We came for fun. It's not normal, in 2025 we're still waiting, it's not New Year's, it's not Easter. It's a shame. The queue is 2 kilometers long ," said another immigrant.

It is learned that the Albanian side is working with 5 counters to speed up the passage of vehicles, but it seems that on the Greek side there are still slow procedures and few counters, which has led to a stalemate on neutral ground and a 2-kilometer queue at this border point./ CNA
