Citizens, in front of the door/ Veliaj locks himself in the office

Citizens are continuing the protest in front of Tirana City Hall.

On the other hand, the mayor Erion Veliaj is in the office.

Despite numerous calls, Veliaj refused to appear in front of the protesters to account for the arrested directors.

We remind you that on March 28, arrest warrants were issued for the 3 directors of the Municipality of Tirana, Redi Molla, Mariglen Qato and Taulant Tusha, while 6 other officials were forced to appear.

Tusha was arrested in December 2023 and is under accusation for the affair with the Tirana incinerator.

SPAK's investigations show that the directors of Veliaj had created the company "5D" and had benefited from dozens of municipal tenders.

In the conversations of the employees, the mayor of Tirana is also mentioned for shares in a Redi Molla hotel in Durrës, but Veliaj denied it.

CNA  has learned that investigations are continuing and SPAK may arrest other directors of Erion Veliaj involved in corruption./  CNA
