"SP and DP on honeymoon"/ Capri: They agreed on a fictitious

Mundësia Party MP Erald Kapri spoke today regarding the resolution on European integration, adopted in the plenary session of May 14.

In a television appearance, Kapri described the resolution as fictitious, while adding that the Opportunity Party was not invited to be part of the resolution by either the DP or the SP. Among other things, he described this agreement between the majority and the DP as a "honeymoon" and this, according to him, is seen in the manner of negotiation for the Electoral Code and the hearings for the Territorial Reform.

"There are many issues not to participate in this resolution that we considered fictitious because of the way it was made. It was made in a record way by the DP and the SP, they met with each other, it's not like they invited us. The resolution is so superficial, that it shows in itself that it will not bring a major political change. There is a honeymoon between the DP and the SP, and this is also noticeable in the way they are negotiating the Electoral Code and the hearings for "Territorial". And apparently also on this issue that the government has had a very big embarrassment about integration, the DP gave it a hand for this" , said the MP.

Meanwhile, when asked why he did not vote against this resolution, Kapri said that he stands by the principle of the country's integration into the European Union.

"We did not vote against it, because we stand by the principle that we are pro-integration. The purpose of the resolution itself is to affirm the entire national political will to integrate into the EU. The question is how. And if this resolution did not reflect the concern of European countries about the Balluku issue, it is fictitious. We think that the DP should not have voted for this resolution," said Kapri.

The draft resolution on European integration was voted by the deputies with 114 votes in favor, 1 abstention and no votes against. The resolution emphasizes that the majority and the opposition are committed to strengthening political dialogue. It also calls for the acceleration of electoral reform in accordance with the recommendations of the OSCE/ODIHR and the Venice Commission, to guarantee free and fair elections.

Among other things, it is required to strengthen efforts and consolidate concrete results in the fight against high-level corruption and organized crime, guaranteeing full support for relevant institutions and the implementation of European Union requirements. /CNA
