According to Meloni, the document supports the idea of ??establishing repatriation centers in third countries, a model that Italy has begun to implement in cooperation with Albania.

She described this as a significant development at the European level, emphasizing that a year ago such an approach was still the subject of debate, while today it is becoming a common principle among member states.

In her statement, Meloni also praised the cooperation with the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, saying that this approach has been built with courage and determination.

The "Chisinau Declaration" refers to a document adopted within the Council of Europe, which, according to Meloni, reflects a broader European consensus on the need for more orderly migration management and for new solutions in this area.

The Chisinau Declaration, adopted by the 46 member states of the Council of Europe, recognizes the legitimacy of innovative solutions for managing migratory flows, such as repatriation centers in third countries, according to the model launched by Italy in Albania.

This is an important result, the fruit of a path that Italy helped to open with courage and determination together with Danish Prime Minister Frederiksen.
