Clashes in Zvërnec/Këlliçi: What happened there is what is

Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi has reacted on social media regarding the clashes at the protest that took place yesterday in Zvërnec. Këlliçi writes that the footage broadcast from that protest showed the current state of Albania,

Among other things, he states that the State Police was there not protecting citizens but helping what he calls "the government's clients."

He states that in today's podcast, Prime Minister Edi Rama ignored the serious event and made propaganda.

This video shows the state of Albania today. The violence by masked civilians against a protester in Zvërnec, in the presence of the State Police, is the real panorama of our country.

The strongmen connected to Edi Rama have taken over the property, are not transparent, and are violating citizens who raise their voices.

There is the state police that does not protect citizens but helps the government's client. It turns into a Praetorian guard for the oligarchs and this is not the first time this has happened. And to make the picture of democracy we have today even more complete, this serious scandal was not reflected yesterday in any of the country's main media. A shameful censorship.

If it weren't for activists and social media, no one would have known about the violence in Zvërnec. The videos circulated online like yellow papers once did.

In his monologue today, Edi Rama ignored this serious, shocking event, and as usual, he made disgusting and out-of-color propaganda about Albania's achievements.

Previously, the Prime Minister had expressed his support for the business that he himself had allowed there.

What happened in Zvërnec is what is happening in Albania. Looting, taking property, profiteering for those close to Edi Rama and failure to provide information, disregard and violence for citizens.
