Photovoltaic panels to power the Sazan radar

The Ministry of Defense plans to supply the radar in Sazan with energy from the installation of a photovoltaic plant.

At least this is the object of a contract for a procurement procedure opened on the website of the Public Procurement Agency.

According to the tender documents "Construction of the autonomous system with solar panels (PRT and Sazan Base Site, property 915)" aims to design the electricity supply infrastructure during the day through the use of solar energy.

"The photovoltaic project which will be installed on the terraces of the buildings by means of b/a structures and metal constructions in Sazan in the context of the production of energy from alternative sources for the supply of the radar of Sazan.

The project is made up of: Stakeout and planning project; Construction of concrete and metal structures; The project of the extension of sewers and electric lines; Construction of electrical panels and inverters; Placement of lithium batteries; Installation of solar panels; Validation testing" is stated in the document.

The documents specify that currently the average consumption of electricity at Radari is 5-7 kwh. The position and location of the buildings makes it a very favorable area for the installation of solar panels. The terraces of the buildings are currently vacant and unused. The total area of ??the buildings has enough space for covering with solar panels for their own needs.

According to the Ministry, this project has advantages, first of all, the geographical position of the Sazan area makes it a very favorable area to take advantage of the many sunny days for the production of electricity at a very low cost from solar panels.

"Also, the very favorable terrain and large usable spaces make it possible to produce energy with a very high yield. The emission of gases into space from the production of energy by means of solar panels is very small. The long life span of over 25 years of the panels and the very small need for maintenance make this project very efficient and profitable," the document states.

The works for this project are expected to last 5-7 weeks. The limit fund for this procedure is calculated at 14.2 million ALL./Revista Monitor
