The former Minister of Justice, Ylli Manjani, has listed some reasons that, according to him, show why justice does not work in Albania.

During an interview in Euronews Albania, Manjani explained that some of the prosecutors or judges are politically appointed.

While adding that some others have realized that it is not in their interest to go against the government, that if the prime minister gets stitched up, then according to Manjani, the prime minister wins.  

 "Some are formatted so that in the elections, they are put there to serve politically. Second, there are people who have problems, they have jobs, needs, loans. Third, no one is interested in having an enemy government. Why should he listen from morning till dinner o thief, o bandit, o vetting.

Time has shown that if the government is sewn up, the prime minister is sewn up, the prime minister wins. The system is broken. Whoever the prime minister has spoken to, you see, if he doesn't behave as we say, he will be caught by vetting, he has caught vetting. These are facts. Why should these who are in the system become heroes? They do their work and go home" , declared Manjani. / CNA.al
