Environmental pollution and infringement of biodiversity/ Fines for citizens increase

The Council of Ministers has increased fines against citizens who damage the environment.

The Minister of the Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, said that the punitive measures for violations of the laws for the protection of air quality in the environment, for the protection of the environment, for the protection of biodiversity and for the assessment of the impact on the environment have increased by about 30%.

In a conference with journalists, Kumbaro stated that the fines will be executed immediately, after emphasizing that their appeal takes a long time.

"Some important decisions taken by the Albanian government are the change and amendment of 4 laws in the field of the environment, specifically the law on the protection of air quality in the environment, the law on the protection of the environment, the law on the protection of biodiversity and the law on the assessment of the impact on environment.
