At the meeting of the Municipal Council of Tirana, the decision was made to give a rental bonus to families who previously lived in dormitory buildings occupied after the 90s.

It is about the families who lived in the Agricultural University or in the Student City, which were left homeless after the 2019 earthquake.

According to the head of the Municipality of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, 43 families will receive rent bonuses with the market value.

 "We have now really finished 8 buildings at the Agricultural University of Kamza, but if we return in 2023 to the occupation of buildings by family members, instead of students, it means that we have thrown an old wine into a barrel new. So we have brought an old mentality to new buildings. This can't go on anymore. So the invitation to all these residents is that we help them with the rent subsidy, but we will do it with the market rent, so we will do the subsidy as we did for these 43 families, but the application will be made to each unit, that is, on the 2nd, 8th and 11th," said Veliaj. /CNA.al
