The media could not appear at GJKKO/ The hearing for Gërdec is postponed

A hearing on the "Gërdeci" case was held this Thursday at GJKKO.

But the former Minister of Defense, Fatmir Mediu, was not present in the hall because of the budget session in the Parliament.

He had sent a request asking for the session to be postponed, as he wanted to be present and it was impossible for him to appear today.

His request was accepted and the next hearing was scheduled for December 14. In the next session, 7 witnesses are expected to appear, among them Aldo Bumçi and Shkëlzen Berisha, the son of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.

We remind you that the Special Prosecutor's Office has requested that 69 witnesses be called to be questioned by the court about the "Gërdeci" file.

We remind you that the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime accuses Mediu of "abuse of duty" and "abuse of duty in cooperation with military command staff" regarding the file of the explosion in Gërdec.

The lawyers of former minister Fatmir Mediu have requested that the case be dismissed for the effect of anticipation, since according to them their client is not to blame for the state's inaction over the years./  CNA
