The general director of the Insurance Institute, Astrit Hado, has stated that about 3,200 Albanians working in Switzerland can benefit from the social security agreement with Switzerland.

Hado informs that the agreement recognizes all the contributions paid in Switzerland by Albanian citizens as well as the contributions of Swiss citizens in Albania.

In an interview with Sibora Bitri, Hado said that we are very close to the agreement with Italy while the agreement with Croatia has been completed.

The agreement is open-ended, so it will apply to those who have worked in the past as well as to the future.

He recalled that the agreement does not cover those people who receive social assistance, or are treated with economic assistance, it only covers workers who work legally and pay contributions.

"Of course, paying the contributions, you must have a certain period of insurance, 15 years, that's what Albania has, often citizens don't complete their retirement years, they don't meet the criteria in any country, that's why the agreement comes into play", he said. says Hado./ CNA.al
