The political leader of the Socialist Party of Korça district, and one-time leader of the Socialist group, Niko Peleshi, at the closing meeting in Korça, mentioned one of the most prominent figures of the city and Albania, the intellectual Llazar Fundo.

Peleshi recalled the contribution of Llazar Fundo, who is one of the signatories and drafters of the Ventotene Manifesto, for a United Europe.

He emphasized that Llazar Fundo was the first Europeanist whose bust will be erected in the square bearing his name in Korça.

"In World War II, deep in history somewhere on an island in Western Italy, a group of anti-fascist internees wrote the first Manifesto for a united Europe, called the Ventotene Manifesto.
