The Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro, accompanied by the Mayor of Durrës, Emiriana Sako, closely monitored the implementation of the law that prohibits the use of disposable plastic bags. 

"The whole point is to discourage people from buying bags. These bags you trade are in line with the law because they are thick and versatile. "I am glad that you have also inserted the paper bags, but from July 1, the controls will no longer be only informative, but also with punitive measures", said the minister during the conversation with a trader in a food market.

Ndërsa bisedoi nga afër me subjektet tregtare dhe qytetarët, ministrja dhuroi edhe çanta tekstili duke i porositur që t’i mbajnë me vete sa herë bëjnë pazare që të mos paguajnë për qeset shumëpërdorimëshe me trashësi 70 mikronë dhe kapacitet mbajtës 10  kilogramë. Edhe pse këto të fundit janë konform ligjit, përdorimi i çantave të tekstilit, sipas ministres Kumbaro, është alternativa më e mirë për të mbrojtur mjedisin.

“Po, mund të blihen qeset e trasha, por ajo që ne sugjerojmë është përdorimi i trastave”, tha Kumbaro.

 During the meeting, the Minister explained that after a month of awareness, the three law enforcement entities that prohibit the production, import and trade of disposable plastic bags, which are the Customs Directorate, the National Environment Agency and the Market Inspectorate, by July 1 will begin with the imposition of sanctions. 

In one of the supermarkets of the coastal city, the mayor, Emiriana Sako presented the new project of baskets that will serve to throw the cardboard packaging of these entities. In this way, the bins of citizens are not overfilled and on the other hand, by not mixing with other waste, they are not contaminated giving the opportunity to recycling entities to use them. /ET-CNA.al
