KPA upholds KPK decision on Tirana prosecutor

The Special Appeals Chamber has decided today to uphold the decision issued about two years ago by the Independent Qualification Commission for prosecutor Elio Mazreku.

Tirana Prosecutor Elio Mazreku was subject to re-evaluation by the KPA.

According to the press release, the decision to uphold the decision was made unanimously.

"The adjudicatory panel of the Special Appeals Chamber, composed of Natasha Mulaj as presiding judge, Albana Shtylla as rapporteur, Mimoza Tasi, Rezarta Schuetz, Sokol Çomo as members, announced the decision on case no. 5/2024, dated 07.02.2024, concerning the appeal of the re-evaluation subject Elio Mazreku against the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission, no. 717, dated 23.11.2023.

At the end of the trial in the deliberation room, the panel, based on Article 66, point 1, letter “a” of Law No. 84/2016, “On the temporary re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania”, unanimously decided:

Upholding the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission No. 717, dated 23.11.2023, concerning the re-evaluation subject Elio Mazreku.

This decision is final and has immediate effect.
