The Special Prosecutor's Office has registered the criminal proceedings against former President Ilir Meta based on the report made by lawyer Idajet Beqiri for several criminal offenses including corruption, money laundering and concealment of wealth.

According to TV Klan, the investigation is in its preliminary phase where the prosecutors will verify the documentation.

The report focused on aesthetic treatments, which according to the whistleblower, the chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi, performed in hospitals abroad in San Marino and Vienna.

Lawyer Idajet Beqiri has clarified that he submitted to SPAK an invoice worth over 287,000 Euros, which he says is payment for an intervention carried out by Monika Kryemadhi and the transfer was made from an offshore account in Cyprus.

Earlier it was confirmed that based on two reports, SPAK has also registered two investigations for concealment of assets.

We recall that the former deputy Halit Valteri, earlier registered a lawsuit against the President of that time with the argument that he had committed corruption.

Monika Kryemadhi and Vangjel Tavo are also part of that lawsuit.

He accuses them of active and passive corruption in the private sector, concealment of wealth, failure to pay taxes and duties, and abuse of office.

Valteri emphasized that he had data that raised doubts about the consummation of these criminal acts./ CNA.al
