The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, declared today that the University Dental Clinic will expand dental care services for the third age.

During a conversation with the elderly for whom free services are offered at this Clinic, Minister Koçiu shared the news that pensioners will be offered services on the first Saturday of every month.

"The University Dental Clinic will remain open on the first Saturday of every month for the elderly who need to be accompanied by a family member, especially for those who cannot come alone, and thus we create the opportunity to be accessed by as many elderly people to receive dental services", she said.

Koçiu emphasized that they will continue to provide quality health care for all the elderly as well as dental services in residential and day care centers for the elderly, offering therapeutic services and dental prostheses. All procedures for the realization of orthopedic treatment with dental prostheses will be carried out in mobile dental cabinets, providing assistance and dental service where they live.

"We have the obligation to provide health care to all the elderly through the reimbursement scheme, dental care as we offer in this Clinic. The director of KSU has made a commitment to provide dental care in all centers for the elderly. To take measures for all those who need prostheses and offer prostheses", she underlined.

At the University Dental Clinic, the service is offered free of charge to the needy categories, the 0-18 year olds, from the Roma community, residents of social care institutions, the elderly as well as people who are treated with economic assistance. During this 9-month period, at the University Dental Clinic, 9,952 patients received services, of which 2,100 elderly patients received prosthetic services and 3,000 elderly patients received surgical services.
