Integration in the EU/Rama: We are still not ready to join

In an interview given to Euronews Bussines, Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that Albania is not yet ready to be part of the EU, but on the other hand he emphasizes that staying at the door is a waste of time.

Rama said that with the opening of the talks, we do not encourage membership, since in Albania the knowledge obtained from the EU for statehood must be used, and then membership can happen.

"No one is ready to participate, but at the same time it is wasted time keeping us at the door, not allowing the membership talks that are the greatest source of knowledge about state-making. Now with the opening of talks, we are not in a hurry because we need to use this knowledge and transfer it here, and then we will be a part, I hope," said the prime minister./ CNA
