Accused of electoral corruption/ The testimony of the mayor of Vau i Dejës

The Mayor of Vau i Dejës, Kristian Shkreli, was questioned this Tuesday as a witness in the trial taking place against him in the Special Court.

Shkreli is indicted by SPAK for active election corruption.

It is learned that Shkreli has denied the allegations, while stating that he did not solicit votes nor did he offer material goods or jobs in exchange for votes. 

"I have not offered or promised anything in exchange for votes. The village of Stajka has had problems with electricity since 2019, I make calls every day about the problems of the residents, I could be wiretapped today, yesterday I called another director because there was a problem with the lights in another village, I also call the hospital director when there are problems and I receive complaints, the message that the prosecution says "give me fire" is that I asked that at the electoral meeting that was allowed there be cheers, ovations, not that I asked for votes or offered material goods or jobs", said Shkreli./CNA
