After 7 hours of blockage/ Traffic reopens on the Librazhd-Prrenjas axis

Traffic has reopened on the Librazhd-Prrenjas road axis. For almost 7 hours, the axis was blocked due to the collapse of a mass of earth near Hotolisht.

As a result of the blockage, kilometer-long traffic queues were created.

Police announcement: 

Following the information provided about the traffic blockage on the "Librazhd - Qafë Thanë" road axis, in the place called Dragostunjë, we inform you that the road is currently open and vehicle traffic continues normally in both directions.

Traffic Police services, General Patrols and Eagles are present along the entire length of the axis, in order to monitor the free movement of vehicles.

Due to the increased traffic flow, the Elbasan Traffic Police appeal for caution while driving, standing in line and rigorously respecting road traffic rules.

A little earlier, in a reaction on social media, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy announced that 6 excavators, 2 bulldozers, and several employees were deployed to clear the road of soil and stones.

According to the ministry, the reasons for this situation are related to the heavy rainfall in recent weeks and the pronounced erosion of the slope above the road. /CNA
