The Criminal Court of Kosovo sentences Dritan Lleshi to 1 year in prison

The Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime has today sentenced Dritan Lleshi to 1 year in prison. He is accused of exercising illegal influence over persons with public functions.

The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has filed a request with the Court with the following object:

“Trial of the criminal case against the defendant Dritan Lleshi, accused of committing the criminal offenses “Exercising illegal influence over persons exercising public functions”, provided for by Article 245/1, second paragraph, of the Criminal Code (before the amendments made by Law No. 43/2021, dated 14.05.2021)”. 2. The trial of this case was conducted under the rules of summary trial. At the end of the trial, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, with a panel composed of judges Etleva Deda, Flora Hajredinaj and Erjon Çela, with decision No. 46, dated 24.06.2025, decided:

The guilty plea of ??the defendant Dritan Lleshi, for committing the criminal offense of "Exercising unlawful influence over persons exercising public functions", provided for by Article 245/1, second paragraph, of the Criminal Code, (before amendments by Law No. 43/2021, dated 14.05.2021) and his sentence to 1 (one) year of imprisonment.

In application of Article 406 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the sentence is reduced by 1/3, definitively sentencing the defendant Dritan Lleshi to 8 (eight) months in prison.

Based on Article 33 of the Criminal Code, as well as Article 15 of Law No. 81/2020 "On the rights and treatment of prisoners and detainees", the sentence for the defendant Dritan Lleshi will begin to be calculated from the day this decision becomes final and will be served in one of the Institutions for adult and ordinary security prisoners.

Regarding the material evidence, the mobile phone of the brand “Samsung Galaxy J3 Eclipse”, black in color, with IMEI ****, shall be returned to citizen AN, in accordance with article 190/1 letter “ç” of the Code of Criminal Procedure. · The procedural expenses incurred during the preliminary investigation phase, in the amount of 40060 (forty thousand sixty) lek, of the preliminary hearing and during the trial, shall be charged to the defendant, based on articles 393/1 and 406/4 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. · An appeal is allowed against the decision within the legal deadline, to the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime. /CNA
