Daily Mail: The Albanian ambassador in London entered England by truck, as he
Uran Ferizi

The English media "Daily Mail" has dedicated an article to the ambassador of Albania to the United Kingdom Uran Ferizi with the title: "The new ambassador of Albania to Great Britain entered Britain illegally on the back of a truck and lied that he had fled the war Kosovo".

The article points out that the 42-year-old Albanian made a false asylum request when he arrived in Calais in 1998, claiming to be Kosovar and giving a false date of birth. According to "Daily Mail" he entered England, hiding in the back of a truck. He was able to obtain English papers after a marriage to Sarah Lennon in 2000.

Meanwhile, it is emphasized that Ferizi has a close relationship with the socialist leadership of the country.

Excerpt from the article:

Albania's new ambassador to the UK, who will work with the government to help stop the small boat crisis, sneaked into Britain illegally in the back of a lorry.

Uran Ferizi, 42, made a false asylum claim when he arrived in Calais in 1998, claiming to be Kosovar and giving a false date of birth.

Last week, he was officially accepted by David Cameron's Foreign Office – despite Home Office reservations – as Albania's official representative in Britain and will now be formally appointed by the King at Buckingham Palace.

But last night, the former foreign minister of Albania, Edith Harxhi said: "It is not right diplomatically, morally or ethically for someone who entered the United Kingdom illegally to be appointed ambassador. The migration crisis must be taken seriously.'

Ferizi will act as a liaison between Albania and the UK governments to curb illegal migration.

Over the past ten years, thousands of Albanians have entered Britain illegally, in trucks from Calais and in small boats across the Channel.

Multiple sources have confirmed that Ferizi arrived in the UK as an illegal migrant - without any identification when he arrived in Dover, claiming he was fleeing the war in Kosovo.

He was allowed to stay while his case was assessed. Public records show that he married a British woman named Sarah Lennon in Hammersmith, West London, in May 2000. Based on this marriage, he was granted indefinite leave to remain in the UK three years later.

Despite never having worked in the diplomatic service, he was nominated for the prestigious post of ambassador by the Albanian government in June. Sources say he has a close relationship with the country's socialist leadership.

Suella Braverman's Home Office is understood to have raised concerns about Feriz's appointment when he was appointed, but was overruled by the Foreign Office.

According to his online CV, Ferizi is a mathematician and computer scientist who studied at the University of Oxford and University College London.

He was a financial analyst at JP Morgan in London between 2006 and 2008 before moving to the US to work as a research scientist at New York University and Stanford, California.

Before taking up his role, Ferizi will visit Buckingham Palace to present the King with his 'Credential Letter', an official letter from the Albanian head of state that says he can be trusted. Traditionally, the King then holds an informal conversation with the new ambassador about the main issues facing their country./ CNA
