"Butrinti"/ PD MP: The Council of Ministers does not respect the
PD MP, Ina Zhupa

DP deputy, Ina Zhupa, has shown details from the next session for the concession of Butrint.

In a statement to the media, Zhupa said that the Constitutional Court has made a decision which forces the Council of Ministers to bring the documentation of official communications with UNESCO made during the period of 2019-2023.

According to the deputy, the Council of Ministers does not respect the decisions of the Constitutional Court.

" For 4 years, no documentation has been brought. This is a violation of the decision of the Constitutional Court by the Council of Ministers. When this happens, it is pointless to continue a court process when the expectation is that they will not even implement the final decision", said the deputy.

The deputy stated that based on this request, a handwritten letter, without a control number, was sent to them, where the reason for the lack of communications was explained.

According to Zhupa, it was written that, since the employee who had the communications from her email, has left her job, thus bringing about the disappearance of ties with UNESCO.

For the deputy, this is ridiculous, because in addition to the fact that all communications must be stored, they cannot be made from emails that are not official.

"In this aspect, I think that today we will demand the implementation of the decision of the Constitutional Court. We received a handwritten letter without a protocol number saying that we have lost communication with UNESCO because an employee has run away from our job and her email has been closed. This is completely ridiculous. I think that for four years the communications have not been done by an unofficial email. AKSHI has the power to issue them. Ministries have the power to preserve them as further evidence. If you eliminate all communications with UNESCO for a world asset like Butrint, who guarantees me that this asset will be protected or worse removed from the list of protected assets. This is our position and our charter in the Constitutional Court as we will later request a direct involvement of UNESCO. We don't back down, we will continue this process until the end. Even today as we speak, Butrint is being damaged as well as its history. There are researchers out there who are alienating history," she said.CNA
