Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, during his speech held at the joint meeting of the DP called by Gazment Bardhi, said that this meeting is the right message for the 600,000 citizens who voted for the opposition.

Berisha said that the mission of the Albanian opposition is the most difficult that he has had in 32 years, but at the same time it is also the most decisive.

"First, I want to sincerely thank Mr. Bardhi and all those who, I think, at a very important moment in political life, committed themselves to calling and holding this long-awaited meeting by the despised opposition people. I thank all of you for being here today and I express my conviction that, in the conditions in which Albania is, the mission of the Albanian opposition is the most difficult that it has had in 32 years, but at the same time it is also the most decisive. We sit here with a parliamentary mandate and there are others who are not here, but at the end of the day, we must never forget that our mandate was taken on a ground in which the government dictated most of the ways, the will of the citizens Albanians. It has created a fatal reaction in which crime turns into votes and votes into crime.

This reaction has become an almost determining factor in the ethnic cleansing of Albania as never before in its history. There is no other way out of this vicious circle than the responsibilities of the opposition.

If you see and analyze this vicious circle, there is no doubt that there is room for fatality, but the opposition is not the one that can never accept falling into fatality, but it is the one that has the duty, has the legal and moral mission to provide solutions, to create hope and inspire hope. And I think that this meeting of ours today is the most appropriate message that we send to over 600,000 citizens who, in the most unequal conditions in 32 years, stayed as idealists and voted for the opposition in the electoral farce of May 14," said Berisha.
