"The barricades were set up by criminals"/ Minister Olta Xhaçka

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Europe, Olta Xhaçka, has reacted to the situation in the north of Kosovo.

She says that the barricades were not put up by ordinary people, but by criminal groups. 

"We are regretfully following minute by minute the appearance of an artificially prolonged crisis in the north of Kosovo and we are deeply concerned by the escalation of tensions.

Barrikadat që janë ngritur në veri, jo prej ndonjë vale zemërimi popullor, por nga një grup kriminelësh famëkeq, nuk po pengojnë thjesht vijimin normal të jetës. Ato janë po ashtu skena që të kujtojnë ditët e errëta të viteve 1990 të cilat rajoni ynë i ka lënë pas njëherë e mirë bashkë me ish Jugosllavinë që shkoi e vate.

Për pak vjen viti 2023! Kjo nuk është koha për të bërë kërcënime ushtarake apo për sulme të papranueshme kundër Policisë së Kosovës, KFOR dhe Policisë së EULEX. Kjo është koha për dialog dhe bashkëpunim. Kjo përballje e rrezikshme duhet të marrë fund dhe autorët duhet të nxirren përpara drejtësisë.

We are with Kosovo in this difficult situation and we call on the Serbian authorities not to justify either the barricades or the criminal groups that refuse to remove them. Playing with fire is a very bad idea for the future of all our children," Xhaçka wrote. /CNA.al
