Balluku from London: Albania, the example of excellence for energy auctions
The Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku

The Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku is in London, at the Investment Summit for the Western Balkans.

Balluku made it known during a press statement that the energy sector was discussed during the Summit, where Albania presented the initiatives undertaken, as well as the practices followed with the development of auctions.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that Albania should be taken as an example of excellence in terms of all energy auctions.

She stated that all investments in the energy system are very important at this time.

"Today was a marked day for the energy sector, where in a panel with all the guests who came from the energy field, but also ministers from the Western Balkans region, it was discussed about all the best practices that have been followed over the years and of course Albania is one of those countries which is taken as an example of excellence in terms of all the energy auctions we have organized and three of them have already taken place. While we shared with all investors, representatives of the banking system and of course all other partners who have supported us in our journey, what are the plans for the future.

Today, when Albania talks about energy, when it talks about road transport, when it talks about development in all economic fields, there is a very important component, that of the growth of a market, which is the tourism market with a number of 10 million last year , in 2023 the number of visitors and that our goal is to reach over 13 million in 2024.

It is clear from the data and from the figures that we share today with the public opinion how this important field, i.e. tourism in Albania, is developing. Over 652 thousand passengers entered Rinas in the month of January alone, placing the international airport of Albanians in first place and leaving behind Belgrade, leaving behind Zagreb, Sofia and many other countries not only in the Western Balkans region, but of the entire Balkans. And all these achievements obviously need to be supported by the energy system, so all investments are very important at this time. They must be supported by the infrastructure and by any other sector that has an important contribution to the tourism sector that is developing at this moment in Albania," said Balluku./ CNA
