Lawyer Ndue Pjetra has shown the number of Albanians arrested for human trafficking.

Pjetra said that more than 500 Albanians have been arrested, young men, who have taken illegal immigrants by car who travel on foot to Tirana or other cities.

"The roads of Albania, from Korça, from Saranda, to Tirana are filled with black people, who travel on the side of the road in the direction of Tirana. Today I give a full guarantee, there are over 500 Albanians, young men, who are behind bars, as they are taken by car to Tirana or on the way they want to go", he said.

Furthermore, the lawyer accused the Government of inflating the figures and inciting unnecessary arrests just to benefit from funds from the European Union.

"Perhaps to get money from the European Committee, our country makes these arrests public, so that in Albania it is becoming a crime and we have established a law that says that for a criminal offense of this nature, it starts from 5 to 10 to 60 million Lek fine", emphasized Pjetri./ BA - CNA.al
