Accusations of property alienation/ GJKKO decides on a summary trial for Jorgo

The trial of the former mayor of Himara, Jorgo Goro, began this Monday at the Anti-Corruption and Organized Crime Court. He is accused of abuse of office in two cases and failure to declare assets.

Goro himself was present in the courtroom, and he stated that he stands by the request made in the preliminary hearing for a summary trial. This request was accepted by the special judge, Ardit Mustafaj.

The prosecutor in the case, Olsi Dado, said that abuse of office in two episodes, as well as failure to declare and conceal assets by Goro, has been proven.

Along with Jorgo Goro, the trial began with the same procedure for other former municipal officials, Vezir Gjikoka and Jerasimo Basho, while the former head of the Vlora Cadastre, Bilbil Aliaj, will be tried with ordinary procedure. For the latter, the court decided to separate the case.

At the next session, on February 10, at 1:00 PM, the Special Prosecution Office will present the case against Goro and the others.

In the first episode, it turns out that they submitted a property for registration with false documentation. While in the second, for a piece of land, they confirmed a survey plan with a completely different geographical location than the one corresponding to the property documentation.

During the investigations of SPAK, it is suspected that Jorgo Goro has hidden an apartment in Tirana, with an area of ??81 square meters. Regarding this property, the prosecution suspects that Goro has registered it in the name of another person, but that it is owned by the former mayor./ CNA
