94 municipalities and fewer inhabitants/ Details from the proposal of Lulzim Basha's supporters

The DP parliamentary group has prepared the proposals that will be presented to the special parliamentary committee.

Lulzim Basha's group, which is participating in the meetings of the Territorial Reform Commission, has proposed an increase in the number of municipalities.

They demand that from the 61 municipalities that are currently, they become 94 municipalities.

According to the proposal, the number of inhabitants per local unit is reduced from 75 thousand to 50 thousand.

The average area per local unit also decreases from 471 km2 to 315 km2.

Meanwhile, the number of local elected representatives increases from 61 to 94 and the number of councilors increases from 1,607 to 2,114.

The number of municipalities per district also increases from 5.1 municipalities to 7.4 municipalities. /CNA.al
