The clashes/What is happening with the DP list in Korça, who are the contenders

Korça region seems to be one of the most difficult in the selection of candidates for MP by Lulzim Basha. It was the same with the appointment of the political leader of this region. He was named almost last in line and was Edmond Spaho, a political figure who until 2013 has been a candidate 3 times in this district.

First, is the PBDNJ phenomenon. Vangjel Dule, the leader of this party and ally with Lulzim Basha has asked to be part of the DP list in this region, due to his clashes with Fredi Bejleri in the region of Vlora. Dule has systematically received 2-3 thousand votes in Korça region. In an arithmetic account, if he were to pass these votes to the opposition, he could help DP to increase his chances of winning 4 to 5 seats, or the sixth as it claimed.

Secondly, it is the LSI phenomenon, Lulzim Basha?s other ally, that in the Korça region seems to be within the DP list. There are still discussions about how to run with the two coalitions. So far it is said that Endrit Braimllari will be inside the DP list and the SMI list in the Korça region will be fictitious.

The third challenge is Andrea Mano, the former head of the DP branch in Korça, who resigned from this post, and who has been running since 2015 constantly losing. Just like Luli Basha who dreams of becoming prime minister, Andrea dreams of becoming an MP.Mano ran in 2005 as an MP and lost. He ran for mayor, and lost. He was also a loser as the leader of the 2009 and 2013 campaigns. However, if it will be part of the list, it will be placed in 3 or 4 safe places.

Another important factor that claims to be a candidate in the first places of the list is Fatbardh Kadilli. Kadilli claims that Basha owes him a debt as a former secretary of human resources in the Democratic Party. He was left out of the lists in 2017, and again supported Lulzim Basha.

Another name that claims to be part of the winning list again, this time from Pogradec, is Erald Kapri, a relative of the former Democratic mayor of Pogradec, Eduart Kapri. The latter, a former journalist already turned into a historian, who works for the AMA, claims to be part of the winning list in the Korça region.

A name not unknown, but also prominent in politics in recent years, a product released by Lulzim Basha, is also Ervin Salianji. Salianji is the man who together with Andrea Mano led the 2017 campaign, recording the biggest electoral catastrophe of the Democratic Party in Korça, which hadn?t happened even in 1997.

Salianji claims to be at the top of the list and within a safe zone. But this time it will be difficult because of a sentence by the Court of Fact in Tirana for the ?Babale? case. The two ladies from Korça, Ledina Aliolli and Sorina Koti, claim also to be part of the PD winning list. There are other names that are rumored, such as Dritan Shano, who claims to be in the top five of the list again.

So it seems that the Korça region will be one of the most difficult for Lulzim Basha, as he will seem to find safe places for the allies and keep almost 10 promises he has given. However, with these names, no matter how you list them from the first to the last, after the announcement of the list in the Korça region, it is predicted that there will be a big clash within the party structures, and therefore the failure in this region seems inevitable./CNA.al
