After a long career filled with many successes and goals, Valdet Rama has decided to retire from football! The former striker of the national team has accepted something like this himself, saying that as a footballer he has fulfilled his dreams and now it's time to say goodbye.

In an interview given to "Koha" in Kosovo, Rama said that he will no longer continue playing football and will end it now, at the age of 35. In his career, Rama played in La Liga with Valladolid, in Albania with Kukës, in the Bundesliga with Hanover and in China and Sweden, while he also played with the Albanian National Team, scoring goals.

"I will finish my career as a professional. I am very happy to have realized my dream of becoming a professional footballer. Normally there is no end to the height, but this was my way and I am happy.

I went to Germany in 1996 with my family. I was eight years old and we did not know the system of Germany. It took us time to adjust. In a big country like Germany believe me it is not easy to achieve. The competition is very big. And I have played 17 years as a professional and I am happy. I have always dreamed of becoming a professional player and I have sacrificed for it. Without sacrifice and faith it is impossible to achieve.

I was the first Albanian in La Liga and I played when the Spanish championship was at the highest level. They were players like Messi, Ronaldo, Iniesta", said Valdet Rama.
