OFFICIAL/ The Italian club fires the coach, appoints Maurizio Sarri

Maurizio Sarri is officially the new coach of Lazio. After a year and a half, he returns to the bench of the capital team.

Sporting director Angelo Fabiani has reached an agreement with the coach in Tuscany, finalising a two-year contract with an option to renew. Sarri and his staff will earn 2.5 million euros per season, with additional bonuses for European success.

Fabiani confirmed that the contract has been signed and that the coach will arrive in Rome on Thursday to start work. A key point of the agreement was the inclusion of Sarri in the transfer market.

He will replace Marco Baroni, who failed to qualify for Europe. Baroni's departure was announced by the club in an official statement.
