Klaus Gjasula has made the decision to retire from the Albanian National Team. The midfielder talked with coach Silvinjo and the technical staff, communicating his decision.

Gjasula counts 29 matches with the National Team, debuting on September 7, 2019 in the France-Albania match, while he was part of Albania in the European Championship "Germany 2024", where he found the net for the first time with the red and black jersey in the unforgettable challenge Croatia - Albania, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

So, through a post on social networks, the footballer announced his decision, stating that it has always been a dream for him to play and represent Albania in the international arena, while adding that it is the right decision to opened the way for young people.

"I always dreamed of playing with the National Team and I made it happen. I was in a European, I scored a goal and I felt the happiest man. If I look back, I have a lot of beautiful moments with the red and black shirt, from the first meeting, to the debut match against France in the "Stade de France" and to the last one against Croatia in the European Championship. Even when I think about it now, I still tremble with emotion.

Anyway, I coldly judged and made the decision to retire from the National Team. It is the right decision to pave the way for young people, which fortunately our National Team has a lot of. I achieved my dream and now it's time for others to fulfill and live that dream.

After five years I will have the opportunity to come to the stadium and support our national team as a fan. I am grateful to God, my family and all the people who stood by me at every moment and believed in me.

In particular, I want to thank the Albanian Football Federation, President Armand Duka, the coaches I worked with, Edoardo Reja and Sylvio Mendes Campos Junior, the technical staff of the National Team and all the teammates who shared this journey, which for me is the most special. .
