With UEFA's latest changes, the 2023-2024 season ends the era of eight groups as well as the 32 teams playing in the final stage. The new tournament will start in the 2024-2025 season, with 36 teams in a single group. With the transition to the new Champions League, the European championships have the opportunity to have one more team than in the past.
