England disappoint, Ghana makes the big surprise

England and Ghana drew 0-0 in their second Group L match at the World Cup, both remaining in contention for qualification to the knockout stage.

The English controlled most of the game in the opening minutes, but had difficulty creating clear-cut chances.

Declan Rice tried twice in the first half, first with a long-range shot and then with a header, but neither found the target. Ghana ended the first half without registering a single shot on target.

The first shot on goal of the match came only in the second half from Anthony Gordon, but without causing any difficulties for goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.
