VIDEO/ Like never before, Ibrahimovic bursts into tears for his journalist friend

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was touched when he spoke to Thijs Slegers, a journalist who over time became a friend of the Swede and recently said that he was sick with leukemia, the disease with which he had been fighting since 2020.

"When I was young and lost, I didn't know anyone in Holland. A journalist contacted me and we went for dinner, from that moment we became friends. Thijs helped me, we always stayed in touch and he will always be in my heart", said Ibra in a link with "ESPN".

Afterwards, his voice breaking with emotion, the Milan striker turned directly to the tearful Dutch journalist and said: "I just want to tell you that I love you my friend."

Thijs Slegers is a journalist for "Football International", but he is well-known in the world of football as he held the position of PSV Eindhoven's press officer. About ten days ago he announced his health condition in a fair way to encourage people to donate stem cells and blood.

"I can no longer be helped, but others can," he said in an appeal that made a big splash in the Netherlands. He also did this publicly during a live broadcast to raise awareness, in which Ibrahimovic was also a guest.
