Two substitutions before the break were a pretty clear sign of Didier Deschamps' state of mind during the first half of the Argentina-France final.

Now further confirmation comes from the video published by TF1, where you can see the coach's reaction in the dressing room during the interval between the parts.

Deschamps is seen first addressing his players in a rather calm manner, then raised his voice until he violently slammed his hand on the table, also causing a slight cut to his finger. The message? Very clear.

"Guys, I'll tell you without getting angry. Do you know what the difference was? It's that they, in front of us, are playing a World Cup final! And we're not playing it."

The reaction on the field would come, but only in the last ten minutes, when France equalized and almost won the final. A dream remained vanished after the 11-meter kicks.
