The tournament in Saudi Arabia, Albania U-20 draws 1-1

Albania U-20 played this afternoon the second match in the "Al Dyar Al-Arabiya WAFF U19 Championship - KSA 2024" tournament in Saudi Arabia, where the Reds and Blacks participate together with the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, Yemen, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Syria, Bahrain and Oman.

Albania U-20 in the second match of group B faced Iraq and this challenge ended in a draw with the result 1-1. Flavio Sulejmani scored the only goal for the Reds and Blacks.

Coach Alban Bushi started the match against Iraq with this starting line-up: Guilio Veliaj (GK), Denis Sulo, Antonios Dhama, Adi Kurti (C), Klevis Haxhari, Ermal Meta, Jordi Jaku, Ledjo Tresa, Dejvi Metaj, Devit Demircani and Frederik Tusk.

The first half of the match was equal and ended in a goalless draw 0-0. While the second faction did not start well for Albania. In the 48th minute, Jordi Jaku was punished with a red card and the Red and Blacks were left with ten players.

The Iraqi team took the lead in the 58th minute with Adnan. Following this, coach Alban Bushi made several substitutions and it was Flavio Sulejmani who equalized the result for the red and blacks in the 71st minute. Until the end of the match, the Iraqi team created some dangerous situations, but the goalkeeper Guilio Veliaj made some spectacular saves and was the best player on the field for the Reds and Blacks. In the end, the challenge ended in a draw with the score 1-1.

Albania U-20 will play the third and final match in Group B on Sunday June 30 against Jordan.
