The next meeting on the proposals for the possible change of the format of the "Abissnet Superiore" championship took place this Saturday morning. Present were the president of the AFF, Armand Duka, the General Secretary, Ilir Shulku, the head of the Competition Department, Marjus Sulejmani, the head of the Legal Department, Aldi Topçiu, as well as the presidents of the elite championship clubs in the country. From the beginning of the meeting, President Duka emphasized that the goal is to increase the competition, the number of spectators and income.

"The objective for this proposal is to have more competition, with the tendency to have more spectators, to promote the Albanian championship more, to give the spectators matches with a more competitive level at the end of the championship. For this, the Department of Competitions, in addition to the studies it has done in all European championships, in cooperation with a working group at UEFA, has issued several proposals. There are also reasons why there are those proposals that we will discuss today.

It is a meeting at another level with the leaders of the clubs of 'Abissnet Superiore'. We do this consultation, then make a decision to change something in the 2023-2023 season, or in the next season, or stay as we are. Undoubtedly, with the proposed schemes, it is intended to have more spectators in the stadium, using the "Air Albania" stadium as well. Looking at the history, it seems that there are more spectators in 'Air Albania' than in other stadiums. It will be better, or with more economic income for the clubs and with more fans. I once again thank you for your participation and interest.

From the actual studies we have done and from the material we have prepared, our championship has some positive characteristics that we have compared to other championships. One of the positive characteristics that we have is that the difference between the first and the last place is not so big or is the best compared to other championships. The number of spectators is more satisfactory. But, to move forward, we claim even more, to have more competitive matches. The championship is thought to start as it was with 10 teams, with three or four stages, depending on the number of matches. And then either there will be a final with four teams with different schemes, or division with "play off", mainly these matches will be played in "Air Albania", which according to statistics has an average number of fans over 14,000.

The head of the Competition Sector, Sulejmani, revealed to the presidents of the clubs the different formats for the "Abyssnet Superiore" championship and then there were technical discussions about them by all those present for some of the proposals, but there was no final decision.

In the following days, it is expected that the Competition Department, together with the Legal and Marketing Departments, will finalize the final document based on the suggestions made by the clubs, which in principle agreed to make changes, and then the material will be sent to the Executive Committee of the AFL for approval.
